The pickling methods of A519 4140 seamless steel pipe

The heat treated material is controlled to L80, P110, Q125 or the customer’s specified properties. A519 4140 material is weldable but requires a preheat before welding.

Generally A519 4140 seamless steel pipe (carbon steel) pickling methods are two, as follows:


First, Sulfuric acid: diluted to about 20% of the concentration, heating to 60-65 degrees, generally wash the A519 4140 seamless steel pipe about 20-30 minutes; 

Second, Hydrochloric acid: also diluted to about 20% of the concentration, direct room temperature pickling, generally wash 20-30 minutes; 

Then, After pickling, rinse immediately, neutralize immediately. If rust-proof, but also passivation treatment.
